Whiskeytown Lake, Brandy Creek Family Session

Life is unpredictable, even on session days. We were thrown for a loop when the Belcastro’s ski boat had mechanical issues. This was a problem because our original plan was to take photos on the boat. But we adapted and changed locations. Choosing Brandy Creek at Whiskeytown Lake as our last minute location turned out to be the perfect fit for this session. The picturesque backdrop matched the family's warmth and happiness as they joyfully climbed the rocks in the creek. And they did so effortlessly, heels and all!

The best part about the change of plans, is that I knew it was going to be okay. I’ve known both the mom and dad since our childhood. And, I’ve photographed their family for the past few years since moving back to town. So I know their easygoing personalities. I know that they go with the flow and love to have fun. I just love this family!

If I learned anything from this session, it’s that there is beauty in embracing change. Things aren’t always going to go as planned, and that’s okay. Sometimes the new plans may even work out better than expected! And for the Belcastro family, the spontaneous adventure in the creek allowed for genuine smiles and joy.
