Whiskeytown Lake, Downtown Redding, & Lema Ranch Senior Session

The forecast showed no rain! But as I was driving out to the lake, the clouds started rolling in. Not a promising sight to see since we had a pretty adventurous list for Ashley’s senior session. It was so exciting to think about! Taking photos at Whiskeytown Lake’s Brandy Creek, Downtown Redding, and Lema Ranch all in one day. Mother nature, however, had a different plan and the rain started just as Ashley and I started her session.

Ashley was such a trooper! She embraced the unexpected shower with grace. For a solid 15 minutes, we continued capturing moments in the rain, with Ashley's radiant smile shining through the downpour. She even braved the chilly water and splashed around in the lake! Which actually ended up to be some of my favorite photos! The rain wasn’t stopping so we made the decision to end the session early and save Downtown Redding and Lema Ranch for a different day.

While the original plan didn't play out as we had hoped, I loved how Ashley’s sweet and fun personality shined the entire time. She is up for anything and easily embraced the unexpected weather with such joy. And she helped turn what could have been a sad, frustrating experience into an uplifting one. Ashley is so wonderful to work with and reminded me to always enjoy the moments, rain or shine.
